This game has long been hyped as one of the better looking games on the 360, and if you're expecting the exact same thing on the PC, turn around right now. It does not look as good on the computer. I don't really see the reason for this, as the game is obviously ported. It also demands a pretty well-endowed rig to maintain a steady frame rate. Do note, if you have anything less than a SM3 card, you can't play. The Tom Clancy games haven't had an awesome story, which is a shame because Sam Fisher runs the show as far as video game characters are concerned (no offense Mario). It’s a shame to see that the story once more is surprisingly mediocre. When the developers put so much emphasis on the story, it's not fun to see the story fall flat. You don't feel as motivated as you should to bring the terrorists down, and the endings are probably the most disappointing endings I've seen since Knights of the Old Republic 2. You devote so many hours of your life towards this game and it pretty much leaves you sitting there saying: «That's it?!». Don’t despair, as there are 3 of these disappointing endings to unlock, so at least there's some replay value thrown in for good measure. This game takes Sam out of the darkness we're so used to, strips us of our familiar HUD and gives him several lights to tell how safe you are in any situation. A green light means you're safely hidden in the darkness, a yellow light means that you can be spotted if you're unlucky, and a red light means that the bad guys are looking for you. This new system kind of let me down a bit, as I loved the innovative sound meter of Chaos Theory, but any developer that tries to make their game HUD-less and more realistic deserves a heads-up, because it's definitely a step in the right direction. It’s just too bad they stumble taking the step. |
