RTS and FPS all in one. ![]() Publisher: Lesta Studio Genre: RTS (Real Time Shooter) / Action / Tactical Release Date: August 2006 System Requirements Windows 2000 / XP Intel Pentium 4 1700 MHz / or similar CPU 512MB RAM 3D video card w/ 64MB memory 1500MB free space DirectX 9.1 compatible sound card 8x CD-ROM “SINK ‘EM ALL” Just Does Not Quite Say It There are few people who don’t know what happened on December 7, 1941. The Japanese sneak attack on the American fleets at Pearl Harbor is one history’s greatest and saddest moments. It was the start of America’s involvement in WWII. Lesta Studio brings you the chance to play out this battle and the war in the Pacific, with the introduction of Pacific Storm, their multi-genre game. The three main genres for Pacific Storm are RTS, Tactical, and Action. There are many sub-genres here as well: simulator, first person, war games, and sea-air based strategy. With all these genres, Lesta is hoping to hit something for everyone. You will start directing the battle from the strategic map, or move around the RT battle map. Then when you are done just managing the battle, you can jump into a plane to fly head first into the battle, or keep fighter planes at bay from your ships with the turrets. You begin by choosing to be either the United States or Japan. Pacific Storm starts several months before Pearl Harbor. This gives you time to plan your attack or your defenses. Should you choose to be America, you are given time to build bases, recruit your troops, develop your weapons, and gather your intelligence. Do not think of this game as a historical reenactment of WWII, going from Pearl Harbor to the end of the war. The game will change based on your strategies and quick thinking. There is no guarantee Pearl Harbor will be the first location hit by Japan. They can choose between an all out assault or a hit and run. Pacific Storm introduces the game with a training stage before jumping into the game. This allows you to manage around the two maps and direct your units in battle. Since you have three ways of controlling the battle: all units, selective units, and individual air or sea vehicles, it is a great resource. It also teaches you how to make your units passive, defensive, or active. Then the game teaches you how to change your decisions in the heat of the battle, it is almost a must to go through the training stage. With multiplayer modes, LAN modes, historical campaigns, authentic air and sea vehicles, 100’s of units, and the attack of Pearl Harbor, this should be one of the great WWII games to come out in 2006. You can test the demo at www.buka.com/sadm_files/PS_eng_Demo.exe if you want to get your hands on this multi-genre game before August. |
