Gameplay The game is objective-based, meaning that to win a map you must control a certain number of areas on the map. When you die, you wait until the respawn timer counts down and everyone who has died respawns. This is a server side option and I have seen anything from zero seconds up to 2 minutes. There is also team tickets like the Battlefield games where each death cost a ticket, and if your team runs out of tickets no one spawns anymore. When you join a server, you must join your side and pick a class—anything from a tank operator to a rifleman can be chosen. If you expect to jump into a server and start racking up frags, you've got another thing coming. Using the weapons in this game takes as much practice as any serious FPS. The first thing you will notice is there is no crosshair. The only way to aim is using the iron sites. If you stay sited too long, your aim starts to sway. Your bullet fires where your barrel is pointed, not where the center of the screen is, so this isn’t just a visual effect. Of course your accuracy goes up if you're crouched or laying prone. Even while standing you can rest your barrel on things like rubble or sandbags. A white icon will pop up when you are able to rest your weapon on something to clue you in. The guns vary from submachine guns to bolt action rifles. With the rifles you will have to work the bolt after each shot. It is a little hard to get used to but soon you will find yourself doing it on automatic or semi-automatic guns. The ammo clips only have two states, heavy or light. There is no ammo counter or switching ammo between clips.
Teamwork is almost forced in this game. It is very rare for one person to run into a spot and take out multiple enemies. If you want to capture your objective you better bring backup. When driving a tank, or halftrack, one person drives while another works the gun. If one person tries to do both he will find himself with a very ineffective tank as you cannot reload your shells without being in the gunner seat. It becomes almost natural to take an objective with tank support or a full squad rushing an MG nest.
