I just downloaded some movies from torrent and in VLC all the movies are really dark. Dark parts are totally black and bright parts are dim.
I have a fresh install of XP (1 week old), VLC, x264, and the majority of the videos are .avi's. Also I have WMP11 and quicktime, and the movies will either not show video in WMP or show it as darl/red. In QT and are grey/red. I have my video card settings on bright and my monitor on bright aswell.
Do I need a diffrent codec? or just tweak VLC forever?
you can try tweaking it, and/or try d ling the DivX player, sometimes it plays things that WMP can't and vise versa. or it might just be that it's a bad file.
