6800GT can i play this game with really cool graphcs or i have to pick another one... (if can't witch one sould i pick to play the game with really cool graphics and cheap not to expensive)
#5 I have fairly similar specs to you (maybe slightly better) and I play the game with decent fps at pretty much middle settings. It still looks really good in cities, houses and dungeons, but a little less impressive outside in the forests and fields.
I imagine you'll be able to run it fine - the immenseness of this game lies in far more than its graphics, so buy it anyway and see if you need an upgrade later.
#6 but i want you know some show in the game, i realy got exited with the screens but my 5500, 256 can't do it for me xD only that really bad boring grapihics. i don't whant that boring thing... so whats a good cheap card?
Huh? Thought you just said you had a 6800GT... Obviously you meant thats what you are planning on buying.
I can't really help you though, I'm not good at knowing which nvidia cards are good (having used ATi for years). Go look in the Oblivion system requirements thread and have a look at what people say.
I have 6800GT, amd athlon 64 3500+, 2.2ghz and 1 gb of ram. Pulling game with maxed out graphics, except the shadows which are turned down a bit. Runs fine, only when im outisde, fps will slightly drop but nothing major. Game looks and plays amazing.
I have no idea how will it play on intel machine, im one of those AMD for life kids.
HELP!! the painting Q. Ive talked to everyone ive seen the paintingstuf in her room, ive seen the painting in the west tower BUT, how do I accuse her?? in the last thread it said (nr 17) go to the dining hall and examine the painting on the rug? what does examine the painting on the rug. and btw are you sure its in the dininghall. there is no painting there.
yo nickey i'll help you out man, in the dining hall at the end of the table on the rug on the floor there is paint spilt on the floor, look down at it and press (spacebar) to examine it, this gives you your second clue to the mystery, then after doing this go back to the west tower, in the first room you come in after entering the west tower, there is a semi-hidden sewer ladder looking thing behind a cupboard i think it is, click on that and go down, in this room you will find a painting that gives you the third clue, you can then accuse her to finish the quest, hope this helps out, if you have any questions just reply to me here, and i'll help you out
btw i am addicted too, i beat the game and all its quests with both a melee character and a mage doing all the quests related to my class, now im modding it up, got about 30 mods running now, and it adds a whole lot to the game, the modding community for oblivion is amazing, it will make this game last for a long while for me, and with the silgrad tower modding team, making the whole province of morrowind to explore, and its affiliates doing the same for others, this game is going to live for a long time. just my 2 cents
#14 its the whole Elder scrolls fanbase thats amazing. People are still playing Morrowind thanks to mods. For a single player game its lifespan is incredible.
I actually saw a planned mod where people were mapping areas outside Cyrodiil for Oblivion. I can't find the link though now.
yea, thats what i was talking about, the silgrad team is gonna to mod morrowind. and yes the community is amazing, but its because the games have been incredible.
i killed the bloody fan boy that followed me every where i went after i became Arena Grand Champion. Hes a good person to kill cuz u can take him out anywhere on the map and slay him without penalty.
hold shift and left click the item you want to drop, or you can hold down left click on the item and drag it out of your inventory then use c or v to drop it (i forget which one cuz i dont use that option often)
ok i no this is a stupid question but i really need help. How do u save a new land with out saving over your old one, and once a land has been saved over can you retrive it again?
I've just like totally managed to resdiscover the whole game. I started a new character and vowed to not use any fast travel. Not only does it make the whole experience more realistic AND make the whole world seem bigger, but it makes you consider other things, like buying a horse (because getting given one takes a long time when you can't fast travel everywhere) and buying clothes (running everywhere in a full set of armour slows you down a LOT). You also discover a lot more ruins and forts, making looting and levelling all that much better. I'm level 12 already and I've not even joined a guild yet, just done small quests around Imp city and done a fair bit of Arena fighting.
I'm also using Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul mod, and I strongly recommend other people use it. It makes a lot of small changes, including level capping the enemies so you no longer bump into daedric wearing level 35 bandits when you yourself reach that level and that you can still bump into the odd low level character (like a rat) when you are much higher level. It also makes some enemies really impressive, meaning you can't neccessarily go everywhere at level 2.
lol also, there was a really weird creature in one of the caves I went in. It's either Greenmead Cave or Greyrock Cave on the road between Imperial City and Skingrad, probably Greenmead... but anyway, at the very end, the last creature in there was a MASSIVE mud crab. It was just called "Mud Crab" and it died in 1 hit like a normal mud crab, but it was about 10ft wide and 6ft tall... Anyway, people should check it out, there was plenty of good loot in that cave. It might have just been the mod's doing.
Basically they are alterations to the game to change it in any way, they can be small, like adding a single item, or big, like changing the whole game (ie. Counterstrike is a mod of Half-life).
They CAN be cheats (like adding a free really awesome sword or something) or can just make the game more interesting and enjoyable.
At the end of the day, its a single player game though, so cheating is all well and good.
While trying to enter the dark brotherhood, whenever i try and murder someone while sleeping they wake up before i can kill them. I was thinking maybe it was because i am a low level, but I'm not sure.
Anyone know if it will still work after they wake up?
#30 Just keep attacking them. Make sure you're in stealth mode for the first blow to get a damage magnifier, but other than that, just keep attacking. If they wake up before you kill them then you'll probably get a 40gp bounty on you for assault, but if they make it outside and someone sees you kill them, then it'll be 1000gp. Any which way is a murder though. My personal favourite to murder is the old fisherman in Weye (just over the bridge from the Imperial City main gate). You can do a quest for him, then kill him to steal the rest of his money.
I need some help please... My computer seems pumped up enough to play the game... However, while playing oblivian, my mouse and screen movement are very jump and no fun at all.
I have tried just about every thing
used optimization software turned down all game play settings
I'm Expert of light armor, now would it be wise to have Heavy Armor shield while all the rest is light? I have some amazing shields but i dont know if i should use them. Is wearing all light armor giving me some kind of bonus? (I'm novice at heavy armor btw)
and #45, how about post your computer specs instead saying that you comp is pumped... :/ then we might be able to help you
#46 It depends how heavy the shield actually is. Whatever its weight though, you'll be far more encumbered with it than you would be with a light shield and it won't give you as high armour rating as it would if your heavy armour skill was higher. If you're expert in light armour then I expect the good light shields will give just as much armour as a heavy one (until you level your heavy armour of course).
ahhh im having a pain with finding Mid lvl Marksmen trainer (I'm already at 77 so i only need to talk to the guy once so he can give me map marker of the master trainer...

In the PC version YOU CAN JUST MAKE A NEW SAVED GAME. wow.
I've got some equips worth 4/5k and I'm not really happy with some 1/1,2k for them.
Thx in advance
There are mods around though that make the venders have more money to spend.

Still all jumpy and lame looking.
