Hey for some reason I cannot connect to steam, it gives me the following error message:

"Could not connect to the steam network.
This could be due to a problem with your internet connection, or the steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info."

I went to steam's site and everything checks out as far as my firewall/internet/anti-virus settings go, but I still can't connect. I have uninstalled and reinstalled steam and I still have the same message pop up. I tried logging on to different accounts and it gives me the same message. Finally, I tried connecting to steam on another pc behind the same router, and it works fine there, so I'm all out of ideas on how to fix this. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Windows firewall maybe? Try turning that off. Have you done any tweaks or changes lately?
Its a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake.

My firewall is disabled, and regardless I have steam in the exceptions list. And I haven't changed anything since yesterday when steam was working fine.

If you use or just started using the program Peerguardian for p2p stuff, it's default lists block valve/steam servers/ports.
Yep.

May wanna consider just configuring the port forward or port triggering section of your router instead of leaving yourself wide open with dmz running. I assume thats what you meant that you activated DMZ so now it shouldn't really block anything. Or i'm just losin it ;)
Yep.

thats weird because Enabling DMZ would usually fix the problem rather than the other way around

it is in your router settings. the address is usually 192.168.1.1, so type that into your address bar. i just had this very same problem (where steam wouldnt connect), and deleting clientregistry.blob in my steam folder solved the problem.
