I need help becoming part of the Dark Brotherhood. Only thing I have so far is you have to kill someone for them to come to you. Has anyone become apart of this guild yet? Btw being a vampire sucks and you shouldnt do it.
Applo: I'm part of the brotherhood it's really simple to get in, you just walk in and kill a sleeping old man. Then you get some cool armor from them and a secret hideout. I hear later on though that one of the brotherhood will try and give you vampirism (hint: it's the vampire guy)
------------------------- Allright so I found this handy little trick to beat the arena.You can get on to the right side of the yellow teams entrance and do whatever you want.
Anyways you can just jump up there and cast down on them or even sit up there to regen some life.. I've used it to get all the way thru the championship fight (which can be very simple if you do the right quest).
hey at one point in the game, level 2 or 3 (when i sleep over to level up).. i go to sleep and every time i wake up i become a vampire, wtf how can i avoid that... or is being vampire good? I just dont hear too many good things about it... :/
also, I'm in Chrrol doing quest for this queen lady. Quest where I have to investigate and find out who stole her painting, I talked to everyone and got them to tell me all that they knew, now I am to look for evidence. I found some paint brushes in that black ladys room, but now.... I'm totaly stuck. I ran around whole castle like million times, even ran around the whole town.. no clue what to do.

#9 After you go to the pond the best place to get that root is towards the south east of the map, i found the 10 he wanted +9 more just running to the southeast. If you look at the map theres a little island like 1/2 connected to the land so its not an island really but i found 3 on that alone. Just head down there from the main city and look around all the inland water on the way. (btw after you take him the 1st 10 he will want 20 more so try and get as many as you can) .. You will also come across about 5 different Oblivion gates on the way, just get close enough to them to have the game notice and put it on your map and you can quick travel to them when you please.
#10 I haven't done that quest but many times it's just that you aren't looking for the right thing. Try checking your compass for the red or green arrow. That usually gives you a good idea of where you should be. Now that you brought this quest up I'll try and get it tonight and see what I can do.
Yeah Applo, if you drink every 24 hours from a human, vampirism doesn't really take hold. You apprently don't change appearance, you don't get the bonuses that vampirism gives and you don't get the negatives (like burning in the sun). If you don't drink then apparently every 24 hours in game time you level up as a vampire, which gives quite a few bonuses. However, it does have the negatives of burning in the sun and having people hate you...
Okay so i started the Painting Quest. I've found the stuff in the Black Lady's room, i've found the Trap Door in the West Tower with the painting and whatnot, and I've gotten info from every person. I also picked up every pallet and paintbrush from around the castle out of every box in the place. (my inventory has a bunch of red hands in it) I am assuming you have done all this. I walked around for the better part of 30mins and still couldn't find anything. (notice everyone says it was raining that night and the black girl says she was taking star readings so im sure she did it.)
I went downstairs into the bed you can sleep in, and when i woke up it said i had a dream of someone being bitten by a vampire so i dunno if i have it now or what.
So if you or anyone out there knows what is missing let me know cause I am stumped.
yeah #15... I'm just as stuck :| and I really want to finish this quest cuz by now i prolly put good 2 hours of just running around searching for clues... Also I'm hoping that after I'm done with it that queen will give me the info about buying the house in Chrrol.

If you have anything around this, you should be fine for Oblivion. One thing though, the forests look pretty bleh on medium settings, though you can tweak it yourself.
I bought the Prima Strategy guide, normally they suck but this one is really good. Full color, full maps, easy walkthroughs, secrets, builds, etc. It could save you a lot of time, but that's just me, I always have to buy the strategy guide :P
#18 I wish i could say the same, and my specs are much better than yours so it must be something different. I've had a system crash probably 3 times from just having autosave on and going in or out of a door. Also when i Exit the game it always comes up with an error report and locks up my system for a sec :/
I might try the new drivers, did you notice any difference when you switched?
Also, she still wont sell me the house, i bride her to the max 69 ( she wont take any more gold or anything) now she says that she likes me yet she wont sell the house ahh wtf ... i like that town too :|

I know earlier I got stuck in one that had 2 holes and you fall to the level below and its like a big circle.
A good tip to get out of a dungeon when you are lost is to set your quest goal to something outside and just follow the red arrows on your map to get out.
If you just want a cheap house I came across one in Imperial city I think it was. It was only 2,000. I didn't see it, but the woman said it was pretty crap, so I think its just a little shack. I think it was on the Waterfront.
Yea i've seen a shack for sale near the waterfront, I actually just bought the house for sale in anvil for $5,000 and its like huge, just a little dirty and busted up, but i heard there was a way to do stuff to your house (ie move the stuff)

Just bought the game yesterday and it sounds like you guys are pretty far, you must be at it all the time. I'm currently looking for some nice little hints on how to increase my levels quick and how to gain fast cash. Any hints on making potions would be good too. Struggling to find fights out on the wilderness - any one know of some hotspots? :)

i am having a problem with getting the dust from the will-o-wisp i try and attack it and is invincable and i cant kill it so i can get the dust from it to give it to the deadric shirine so i can activate it.

#33 go through a door into the planes of oblivion and you will cross a bridge and fined the captured soldier and the guard there will drop the key
on another note can someone help me with a tech problem? my game seems to randomly close to the desktop at weird times. its usually when i go through a door but it can be after i kill a monster. there is no error message the whole game just dissapears right to the desktop. i thought it might be something with refresh rates but i tried it on different resolutions and bringing down the refresh rate on 1024 to 60 mhz and it still happens... any help would be appreciated thanks.
how to join dark brotherhood? People tell me to kill innocent people and dark brotherhood wil come to me in my sleep or w/e... well... i killed off the entire settlement of Herdicip (something like that)
and nothing happend after that :/ ( i went to sleep and all that jazz)
#40 The way I did it, was work my way up the ranks in the arena... and in the final championship match a member of the dark brotherhood was watching. After I beat him and went to sleep, he came to me and invited me to join.

1. Join the thieves guild, and ask the right person within the guild to clear your bounty (they will clear all your bounty for half the bounty price. So, for example, if you have a bounty of 500 gold, they will ask you for about 250 or so to clear your name).
2. Drop all your gold and stolen items on the ground, anywhere really, and then report yourself. When your time in jail is up, you should be able to find all your items exactly where you left them. Jail sucks though...
I'm in the theive's guild, I was suprised how fast I could run with no armor on, but what sux is that I have to return my Xbox because its defective, so I lose all my saed stuff...

#11, I have a 7800GT and it runs very well. I get some serious FPS drops in very grassy areas, but then again, I'm running 1280x1024x4aax4af, all settings maxed. beautiful game.

If you have the disease, but arn't a Vampire, just use Cure Disease, if you are actually a Vampire, which I suspect you are, either re-load your game to when you only have the disease and can cure it, or keep asking for help and hope someone knows more than I do.
Personally I declined the invite to become a Vampire from a DB member....

Is the Arch Mage gear (Robe and Cowl) supposed to confer any benefits as the Conjurer's Robe does? Seems odd to me that the high end gear from the Mage's Guild is unenchanted whilst the mid-level stuff is enchanted.

And about the house in Bruma after I helped the queen she would talk about selling the house but she said 10,000 .. So maybe this one will be cheeper.
